Painting thresholds on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tadeusz Kantor   [May 16-July 31] Venue: Silesian Museum, al. W. Korfantego 3

  The exhibition is part of a series of events carried out in the Centre for Polish Scenography Branch of the Silesian Museum associated with the 100th  anniversary of the birth of Tadeusz Kantor (1915-1990), the great demiurge of Polish theatre. >>>

Drawings from school notebooks, or how Jurek became a scenographer  [14.01-15.03.2015]
Jerzy Skarżyński, who in 1999 received the Coryphaeus of Polish Scenography Award, created, inter alia, scenographic designs for the 1960s films of the so-called historical cinema trend, such as the film adaptation of Historia żółtej ciżemki (The yellow peaked shoe), but also strip cartoons and illustrations for the books written by Philip Dick, the Strugatsky brothers or Joe Alex, those editions are deemed canonic today.>>>

Jerzy Zitzman’s folklore of fairy tales and folk traditions  [27.09-23.12.2014]
The exhibition presents the works of Jerzy Zitzman - a painter, set designer, theatre director, author of animated films. One of the important themes in his works were the legends of the mining region of Silesia and the Podbeskidzie area, as well as folk customs derived from the south of Poland.>>>
Shapes by Bohdan Cieslak  [14.06-10.09.2014]
Exhibition of works by Bohdan Cieslak, carried out on the boards of the best Polish theatres, such as the Polish Theatre in Poznań, the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin, the Studio Theatre in Warsaw, the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw, the Polish Dance Theatre in Poznan, the Modjeska Theatre in Legnica. The artist is a stage designer open to experimenting with space, he does not avoid original and unusual stage solutions.

Seven Dimensions of scenography   [28 October – 28 February 2013]
The exhibition is devoted to whole year’s work of art universities, academies and colleges educating scenographers. Seven dimensions of photography are seven cities and seven facilities offering education in arts, preparing their students for work in TV, theatre and film.>>>

Performance in the lens of the city  [27 November – 28 February 2013]
The exhibition will be presented in the Silesian Museum al. W. Kofatengo 3
The exhibition is a result of a unique photography plein-air, organized by the Centre for Polish Scenography with emitent artists – the scenographer Małgorzata Bulanda and the photographer Bartłomiej Barczyk, as well as actors and dancers of Teatr Bezpański (Bezpański Theatre).>>>

The exhibition has been organized by Centrum Scenografii Polskiej Oddział Muzeum Śląskiego w Teatrze Rozrywki w Chorzowie (Silesian Museum’s Centre of Polish Scenography, Rozrywka Theatre in Chorzów Branch). It may be viewed from June 2013 in the theatre working hours. >>>

Theatrum vitae. Marian Kołodziej [18 March – 30 June 2013]

The exhibition is devoted to Marian Kołodziej, an eminent theatre and film scenographer (over 200 stage settings and costumes for 30 film productions), the author of papal altars in Gdańsk (1987) and Sopot (1999). >>>

Sex in project. Models of physicalness and identity in Shakespeare's realizations [21 November - 10 February 2013]
The exhibition will present chosen scenography realizations for the performances directed by, among others, K. Warlikowski, M. Kleczewska, M. Pęcikiewicz, A. Augustynowicz, based on dramas of the famous Stratfordian. >>>

6D Scenography  [August 27 – October 21]
Six Dimensions of Scenography is an exhibition devoted to the all-year works by students of art schools for set designers. Six cities, six dimensions of scenery means six institutions of higher education in art that prepare the students to work in television, theatre or  film as set designers, i.e. as persons responsible for performance or film visual setting.>>>

Changing the world? [April 18 2012 – July 12 2012] 

The exhibition is devoted to a theatre emphasising its ties with the city space. >>>

From Heaven to Hell, from Hell to Heaven
The motif of  the Angel and  the Devil staged in Polish theatre in the second half of the 20th century.

The exposition will present  set designs, costumes, puppets as well as elements of stage setting complemented by pictures of theatre performances.  >>>
